April cottage is a family run friendly Bed and Breakfast overlooking open countryside and the Lake District Mountains of Blencathra and the Hellvelyn Range. There are three bedrooms available, one of which is a kingsize en-suite(sleep 3) and one king size (sleeps 3) with private facilities and one double with private facilities(sleeps 2). Special dietary requirements are catered for. Safe off road parking is available. Use of Garden available, Drying facility also available. Bike storage.

April cottage is close to the Market town of Penrith and is also 5 minutes from Ullswater and Pooley Bridge. The Queens Head is a local 18th century pub within walking distance located in the village of Tirril - serving their famous pies from the Pie Mill at Threlkeld. It is a Robinsons brewery but does stock guest beers.

Activities within the vicinity are Pony Trecking from Tirril, Alternative Coast to Coast Route, Golf in Penrith, sailing and canoeing on the lake.
