Founded on the site of an abandoned 19th century gonpowder works dotted with massive milestones and other carefully preserved reminders of its history, the Estate offers a superb range of facilities including two restaurants, two bars, a traditional Lakeland pub and excellent leisure facilities including heated indoor pool. The Langdale Hotel offers an unusual blend of luxury with a more relaxed and casual atmosphere than the traditional Lake District hotel.
In harmony with its beautiful and peaceful setting, the bedrooms have been converted from original historic buildings close to the main facilities, some alongside the sparkling waters of the river, others looking onto high fells or nestling in the wooded beauty of the Estate.
The Country Club is considered one of the biggest and best facilities in the North of England. Guests can enjoy outstanding views of the surrounding Estate from the 20 metre pool and the twelve-person spa pool.
The Langdale offers a choice of dining including the intimate Purdey's Restaurant, the more informal bistro style Terrace Restaurant and a traditional Lakeland pub, Wainwrights Inn.
