Sitting in an elevated position looking towards Cairnsmore Hill and the surrounding countryside, these spacious and welcoming cottages are ideal for lovers of the great outdoors. Mountain biking is a speciality in the nearby forest and this beautiful location affords excellent walking and climbing with wonderful panoramic views. In the Galloway Forest Park, guided ranger walks offer opportunities for a close encounter with Red deer – wild goats also roam here, and the RSPB reserve at Wood of Cree is only 4 miles away. On the Machars peninsula, which stretches 20 miles south of Newton Stewart, visitors can explore picturesque harbours at Garlieston and Isle of Whithorn as well as sampling the local catch at a seafood restaurant. Known as Scotland's Book Town, Wigtown (7 miles) boasts about 18 bookshops, arts, crafts and coffee shops and a famous book festival in September. Shop and pub 1 mile.
