We are a museum run entirely by volunteers of the Northern Mill Engine Society, and receive no external funding. We do not charge for admission. We have a collection of over 30 old stationary steam engines which once powered the cotton mills and woollen mills of the North of England. Several are now unique - the only one of its kind to survive anywhere in the world! Our oldest engine in now almost 180 years old.
