We are a one stop tourist office with full of advice on the nature and beauty of Scotland. Facing onto Birnam Hill (famous for Shakespeare's Macbeth), Birnam Guest House, Birnam, Dunkeld, has an enviable central location in Birnam village, situated opposite the new theatre and Beartrix Potter gardens and just a few minutes walk from the historic and immaculately preserved village of Birnam . Birnam and Dunkeld (15 minutes walk away) offers some of the most amazing wildlife viewing in Scotland, thanks to its wonderful location on the River Tay and surrounding woodlands and moorlands. The Loch of the Lowes nature reserve is only 3 miles away, home to Ospreys, goldeneye and many ducks while the Tay holds good numbers of goosander and red breasted merganser. The surrounding woodlands and forests are home to many woodland birds such as great spotted woodpecker and treecreeper. Black grouse are numerous on the nearby moorlands and Perthshire is a hotspot for this species which is generally in decline. A little further afield are Blair Atholl with the Beinn A'Ghlo a whaleback of a ridge extending into the wild mountains of Perthshire and Schiehallion with its quartz and limestone outcrops leading to Loch Tummel and Loch Rannoch in eastern Perthshire. This is the ideal venue to spend a few days and take advantage of our special offers of 4 days or more. We offer everything from a full week package to a weekend break. We give out maps and advice on local walks, with info on restaurants, festivities and events plus our own running races.
