Our visit for Sunday lunch at the cafeteria was disastrous. Not "organised chaos" just "absolute chaos". The staff have no dedeicated tasks to perform. Everyone was doing a bit of everything. The cashier constantly leaving the till to make coffees, slice bread, fetch things from the kitchen whilst people with hot dinners were waiting to pay for them. Result? A Baltic, cold, congealed mess by the time tables are reached.
Folks just wanting drinks are allowed to bypass those people being served with dinner(because they are slower) and there can, by then, be upwards of ten people in front of the queue all waiting to pay whilst the cashier is away from her post making drinks etc.
The dinners get colder and colder.
During busy times (and it was a very busy Sunday)the main food counter needs to be food, with drinks. Drinks only should be obtained from the smaller service counter across the room.
It really was chaotic and I have mentioned my points to the supervisor many time over the last few years but it just GETS WORSE.
The garden centre is excellent and that's why we keep going but the cafeteria really lets the place down. Such a shame!

Good Points: Friendly, nice room, comfortable bed, helpful staff
Bad Points: I felt very concerned about the fire exit, there seemed to be a maze of corridors, and if there had been a fire and the place were filled with smoke it would have been impossible to find ones way out. I worked one had to turn right five times, the doorways to reception were just the same as all the others and difficult to find. I felt reassured that my room was above a flat roof, room 28. This is a serious problem!
General review: Pleasant, but please can we have real coffee for breakfast and a choice of brown or white toast and teas, little things, but they make a big difference. Impressed you have this survey.
