Thanks, White Swan, had a lovely stay in your old atmospheric pub, where the man himself could well have quaffed a draught or two! We were made most welcome, had a very nice room, complete with beams and steps down to the big bathroom. Loved the way the floors weren't quite level! The decor could do with a bit of updating, but it didn't matter to us. It was clean, comfy, nice beds etc. Breakfast all as it should be. See you next time!

We arrived in Stratford without prior booking, and were delighted to find The White Swan had availability. My husband & I had a great 2 night break (albeit on business) here, the staff were helpful, polite & the place was spotless. We enjoyed the fact that once the car was parked up everything was within walking distance. We will definately use the hotel again when in that area.

My husband and I spent our 25th wedding anniversary here, as we had stayed here on our honeymoon,(in an oridanry room). This time, we had the fourposter bed room and enjoyed our stay very much. The room is very quaint and comfortable with a very 'oldy worldy' feel to it. We really loved it. The service was very good and very friendly too. Breakfast was lovely and you could have as much as you wanted from a large selection. The location was perfect as you have everything you could want in walking distance. My only complaint, and this is no fault of the hotel's, is that late at night/early morning it was very noisy due to youngsters leaving a nearby club. Having said that, it did not spoil our stay and we will go back for our next big annivesary!!!

This is probably once of the better hotels I have stayed in.The room was very clean and the room was very large. They have no onsite parking , but have a car parking arrangment for £3.50 a day to park about 5 min walk away. However there was no need for us to use the car as everything was right on the doorstep. The room had double glazing ,not that it was needed. The breakfast was superb, lots of fresh fruit, and a buffet style hot food. The restaurant food was also very good. There was no lift and our room was up 2 flights of stairs. There were only 4 TV channels, the staff were friendly and helpful, there is live jazz on sunday nights.

We found the White Swan to be very charming and loved the ambiance of the building, as well as it's location. Our room was spacious, attractive, comfortable and clean. We did run out of hot water both mornings we were there, however. We found some of the staff very helpful and others not so much. We would stay there again but would take our showers earlier in the morning!

In several years of staying in hotels around the U.K. and in fact the world, in my job as an examiner of Speech and Drama, I have never experienced such bad value for money. When I arrived with my husband, the person on reception directed us to the (NOT free!) car park, but omitted to give us a swipe card, so of course that was a waste of time. Our bedroom was grubby - the carpet was simply dirty and hadn't had a proper clean in years. This morning the water in the bathroom ran cold, and when I asked reception for assistance, a very young man with no more than 2 words of English turned up, shrugged his shoulders and indicated with mime that we should wait for the water to get hot - which of course it didn't. When I complained to the receptionist, she was less than interested and offered to just refund the extra £20 charge for an extra person in the room (my husband). No apology, no explanation. After all this time-consuming irritation, breakfast had to be brief, which was just as well, as it was hardly appetising. No yoghourt, fresh food, but tough lukewarm bacon and margarine to go with the toast. Coffee which has to be the cheapest and foulest-tasting on the market. I have never had to complain like this before, but no wonder foreigners despair of our inflated prices and poor value for money. I shall make sure my employer NEVER use this hotel again, and the Tourist Board are aware of the shortcomings.

Visited the White Swan with 72 of my students and chaperones....what a marvelous place it is. For sheer atmospher it's tops....(I've taken students to England since 1969 and stayed in many, many hotels but this wone topped them all) The management and staff were real family-like and very gracious. The breakfests and dinners were wonderful and so much.....my students found it the best hotel of the trip. My wife and I agree that we shall always visit the White Swan. It is centerally located so that when you step out of the main doors you are literally in Shakespeare Land! His birthplace is really just around the corner...and so on. I cannot think of enough superlatives to describe the White Swan and highly recommend it to anyone planning a stay in Stratford Upon Avon. Tom Marcello, Swansea, MA, USA
