gary crane writes "The Great Dorset Steam Fair is a fantastic day out for all the family. The mixture of olden day steam machines, agricultural working displays, antique motors on display and the modern elements of an impressive fun fair all contribute along with many other things to marvel at.The reality is that one whole day on the site just isn't enough time to take in every part of the event. With the well equipped camp sites at reasonable prices for weekend or show duration stays,it is well worth spending the extra to give yourself the opportunity to see the whole thing at a pace to suit you.The huge gathering of market stalls can evaporate half a day on it's own, then you have the evermore popular tractor pulling event, especially spectacular under floodlights on the top of the hill. Also the vast choice of evening entertainment at one of the many live music marquees all around the site can top off a fun filled day, relaxing with a pint of almost a! nything you can think of. The Steam Fair is almost like moving to a new town for a week,it's all there on site for you.I have returned with my caravan every year since 1998,and still enjoy every 5 days of the show as if it was my first time. The only thing that ever has intervened with my enjoyment is the wet weather on a rare occasion.Other than that,FABULOUS!!!!!"
