Staff were very pleasant and attentive upon arrival, pub has been refurbished very nicely. Had a lovely homely feel to it, would suit both adults and younger family members alike. The lighting was just right, in my opinion, not too bright and yet not too dark. The bar was very clean and staff were very capable of all drinks, including cocktails, which were delightful. Prices were what you would expect to pay in most bars. The restaurant was full but noise levels were good, we could all still make conversation without seemingly raising our voices. The food selections were amazing. The portion sizes in the starters were very generous and food was all served as expected. Very nicely cooked. The mains were also fabulous and staff were keen to ensure all was good for the customers. Dishes were cleared away and we were not rushed out of our seats. We were all too full for desserts, but will definitely be returning so will try and give it a go next time. Would thoroughly recommend this place, the Manager was hosting which was really nice and made you all feel well looked after.

I have a menu from The Jolly Farmer dating i should think about 1958! with the hosts" name on the front, and the Appetite ticklers, Hot fish dishes, Salads and Cocktail & Liqueurs listed. I live in America now but was taken there for lunch by the then boyfriend.I took my future husband there a few years later. We are hoping to downsize and I have been sorting out all the "memorabilia" I brought here when we came here from the UK and came across it. Happy memories.
