Hi all well want can i say ... about this family adventures... Severn Valley Railway it was like a school day out ..many years ago.. even the wife said the same.. I forgot about Severn Valley Railway like we all do and the amount of west midlands attractions which are so close...there is loads but Severn Valley Railway is a must it kept all 3 kids quite with stream and sounds of the engines.. what was great we could take the dog as well so that made it easy... its a great way of spend a few hours up and down the line ... you can even see the Safari park on the train ...wow which the kids loved. get of all see the other bits like the kind of stream exhibition and come back ... well it was enough to keep the kids happy after christmas day ... thinking about it Severn Valley Railway is a heart of england adventure as the guide says .. Also what made it easy was the discount vouchers.. thanks again Severn Valley Railway

As grandparents we took our grandson aged 16months for the first time on the santa special Sunday 06.12.09.on the 10.45 departure. The windows in the carriages suffered badly from condensation on the inside therefore making the view very obscured. The staff were very pleasant in all aspects. On arrival at Arley Station we proceeded to Santa's Grotto. What a complete dissapointment.Santa was located in a carriage and was very poorly illuminated almost dark. The space itself was very cramped.Remember to take with you a camera as there was not the option to purchase commemorative photo's with Santa. Conclusion If you want to take your children to see Santa ( Find a more rewarding experience elseware) If you want to take your children on a steam train take the full trip to Bridgenorth, a much longer experience. The trip to Arley is over very quickly Do not combine the two.
