Stumbled on this hotel by accident when looking for a toilet and somewhere to park along the sea-front. The manager told us that they had recently taken over and the hotel had only been re-opened to the public from this weekend.as the previous management had run it. They were so friendly and welcoming, and there was a Karaoke Disco in the main bar, that we decided to stay the night. The room was clean and cheerful, and very good value for the money with tv, refrigerator, ensuite bathroom, tidy decor and a wonderful view of the sea. There was cooked breakfast on offer, which was quite sufficient and we had a thoroughly enjoyable stay. Personally I would recommend this hotel as perfect for anyone seeking a good value break opposite the beach! The new management are very accommodating, and plan to let some of the rooms on long-term rental. They quoted £80 per week upwards depending on the size of the room - even a students pocket would stretch to that! The size of the bar and function rooms also make it ideal for parties, and function bookings with catering and entertainment by prior arrangement.

Good Points: Close to local activities, including town, pier etc. Very laid back able to come and go as you please, good view of sea from window, Large 2 roomed family room. Bad Points: We booked on the internet and had to book a family room - for 3 people (as it would not let us have more than 3 in a room )plus a single room as there were 4 of us. The family room however had a double bed, a single and bunks so we really only needed the one room. General review: Good we came to see the air show and were in a brilliant location for this, and my grandaughter loved the pier and the beach.

Good Points: Cooked breakfast was of good standard. Bad Points: We had 2 rooms, which had balconies with a seaview, but unfortunately we were unable to use the balconies as they were laden with debris and cigarette ends. The hotel had skeleton staff and was not of very good decor. General review: The stay was a disapointment.

We arrived at the main reception to workman stripping wallpaper. with 2 small children we had to manoevre around the ladders. When being taken up to our room we was appalled to see the balcony supported by metal poles. The windows were cracked and bordered up with wood. The balcony door could not close and was also bordered up. There was an electric plug point hanging from the wall by the side of the bed. The curtains were hanging down, the bin was broken and there was a clump of hair where the tea trolley was. There was no tea spoon but a tablespoon to stir your tea. It was disgraceful and not fit or safe for myself, my daughter or my 2 grandchildren to stay. It should have been mentioned on booking that there were renovations, for want of a better word, being carried out and therefore given us the choice to book or not.
