Not pure bad luck at all! The place is a complete health and safety disaster zone. My mother in law had such a bad accident which they have been found liable and we never got so much as a sorry from any of the staff! Just look very carefully at the place as many of the reviews you will read will only be positive as they do not allow anyone to post negative comments on their website and many others....my guess is many of them are their own!

may i say that the last review that kelly wrote must be just pure bad luck on the day..and some people are just not gratefull enough to appreciate the hard work and the planning that st audries do for you, they take away all the stress for you so you can enjoy your day and your guests..my only regret is that mike and i havnt had the chance sooner to write this review...we are still talking about our day and so have our guests, who actually have said its the best day and venue/wedding they have been to..we can not praise claire(front of house manager) and lynn for all the co operation before and during our stay and the time to listen and care for us when planning the day ,it was just so relaxed for us all...i would really recommend a wedding at st audries, the price, the service and the house are all just so amazing..i could list so much about it all but just contact and visit the house to see for yourself and i gaurantee you wont be disappointed..Amanda and Mike Montgomery...

Myself and my wonderful husband had our wedding here. Staff were friendly but as the day unfolded the nightmare unfolded also. Firstly some friends had to be moved from the coach house due to the rancid smell and sight of mold. Luckily the disabled room was free so our heavily pregnant friend did not have to endure such an unpleasant and health risk environment. My mum (mother of the bride) had a really nasty fall in the evening on some dangerous poorly lit stairs in the garden, resulting in the first aider at the venue not having a clue what to do, me having to dress her bleeding wound, a trip to A&E for stitches, the venues night porter trying to pick them back up from hospital and spending hours getting lost as he had never been to Taunton! My son sleeping on a mattress in our room for the night (was going to be sleeping with my parents). The place is an absolute health risk with poorly lit paths and stairs, uneven surfaces with no warning or lighting. My brother had to use a mobile phone light to find his way back to the coach house. Myself and my husband went to bed in tears, the day ruined. Be very very careful, if all goes well then great. If however something like this happens then be prepared. The company have the most unsympathetic directors I have ever spoken to. No care or compassion for my mum or how the incident made myself and my husband feel. No offer of goodwill or help in anyway whatsoever. We also had friends staying at the old rectory, they also had a problem. Be warned their is no phone signal, no landline, there is an emergency number which the venue provided but no one answered. The front of house manager also did not answer. Thank goodness the situation was not life threatening. When we first booked I was worried about some of the negative reviews but they did put my mind at rest when we visited them....but please take my advice and steer well clear!  Unfortunately we are having to now pay for our evening reception all over again so that we can have the party we never got due to their dodgy grounds.

We had been planning to get married for several years! But just could not find the perfect venue, and hated the thought of spending thousands of pounds on the usual thing like decorate a hall and hire a band like no one has done that a million times before! We wanted something that little bit different then I found St Audries Park and in all honesty it cost us just the same amount to get married there than it would have cost to hire some shabby hall!, we got married on 27th Dec 07 and we are now almost into Feb. 08 and guests are still talking about how great our wedding was, most of our guests told us it’s the best wedding they have ever been too, They all said it was having a mini break away everyone loved their bedrooms especially the ones in the main house. We hired the holly cottage but unfortunately I did not get the chance to see much of it, the main bridal party travelled there on the Boxing Day, and my brothers car broke down about 20mile away from St Audries Park, as I was the only one with an AA card I had to sit with my brother and the broken down car until the AA arrived! This took ages and it was getting late at this stage so we just abandoned the car in the end, and made our way via a taxi, I finally arrived at the cottage at 1.30am! After the taxi driver got lost a few times! I must say a big thank you to Claire who rang me at around 11pm that night when she found out where I was and offered to come and take me to the cottage, also thank you to some friends of ours who turned up with a bottle of wine and some crisps to get me through! I would tell anyone who is getting married, they are mad not to take the deals that St Audries Park offers the place is amazing I’m so glad I didn't book the local shabby hall and a even worse band!!! Claire was so great and all the staff was so friendly. I finally got my fairytale wedding, in fact we loved it that much we may have to get divorced!
