I took my family to Haunted Hedingham and regret that I was very disappointed with the evening, Even the kids (ages 6, 10 and 12) were not very impressed. On arrival there were no signs up for parking. There was nobody manning the reception until 20 minutes after the first scheduled guests were due to depart through the woods. The walk through the woods was creepy and there were several effects that were good, however the encounters were few and far between. You were set off at five minute intervals, with about six or seven groups. On arrival at the castle, everyone had to wait until the last group arrived so you were standing around for half an hour at the castle. The castle itself is creepy at the best of times, but we only got to visit two different rooms. A lady told a couple of ghost stories, however it would have been much better with more interaction. There were more people serving on the cake and mulled wine stall at the end than anywhere else.
The scariest point of the whole evening was the cost. It was certainly not value for money.
It could have been so much better with a little more effort.
