I stayed in room 358. The bathroom was moldy and the paint on the coving was flaking. Above all the temperature in the room was ridiculously hot. I eventually ended up sleeping in my car! On checking out I was informed that fans were available but there was no notice in the room and I was not informed that this was the case on arrival. I had thought that De Vere hotels were high quality hotels - now I do not.

when we arrived at the hotel reception we were told they had no confirmation of our booking .we were made to ring our bank to confirm our booking which was made online and we recieved an email confirming so . after proving our booking we were put in a room with two single beds how romantic for valentine .had to complain to be moved into the room we had booked. we had booked tickets for chester zoo in the package and asked the receptionist were do we pick up the tickets to which she replied probaly at the zoo . we found out later they were in the hotel reception . the staff are very unprofessional and caused us a lot of embarrasment in front of others . we will never visit a de vere hotel again

A good hotel, but when we stayed there in 2001, it was at Daresbury, near Warrington, not at Chester as the web site says
