went to the restaurant without a booking, was told id have a table within few minutes but waited almost an hour. We were unable to get drinks due to the crowd of loud drinkers at the bar. Once sat down the waitress was extremely slow in greeting us and giving us menu's. When we eventually ordered we had been there about 2 hours. The starter was ok. the soup was nice but fresh bread rather than stale would have been better. Main course was awful. Mine and our two friends was fine but my husband had ordered his stake medium rare but it came out almost well done with a rubbery texture. Chips were slow to arrive and my husband was unable to complain as our waitress barely aknowledged we were there.I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone and recently there are roumours that there has been food poisoning from the carvery. but whether this is the truth, who knows?

Extremely friendly, efficient and helpful staff. Accommodated a table for 9 (including four children ages 3 to 12) at short notice on New Year's Day. Looks an unremarkable Welsh village boozer from the outside, however, the food is excellent, the carvery being truly one of the tastiest we've had anywhere. Meat is locally sourced. It is also superb value for money, with 2 courses being £7.95 on our visit. Whenever we've eaten there, the restaurant has always been full, so I would advise booking. A gem of a place - and properly Welsh too.

Excellent selection of Fantastic Ten. These ten meals are all superb at a very reasonable price of £5.50 and include a first course from a very comprehensive salad bar. Thoroughly recommended.

What a fantastic atmosphere. all the staff areextremely welcoming and you are made to feel instantly at home. The food is beautiful , from their hommade curries to beautifully prepared duck and salmon dishes. Free salad bar for bar meals also. Just heard they have new fresh fish counter which I look to trying. Lovely enclosed beer garden out back and conservatory just gives me more excuses to visit on a regular basis.
