We stayed for 4 Days with friends celebrating their Anniversary. At the Reception an envelope was pinned to the door, with the two Room numbers allocated to us. One room had another Room Key which was to a smaller room. Telephone numbers below made contact to one of the owners, who responded immediatly apologised, for the mistake and rectified it. The rooms were immaculate clean, tidy very roomy(We had Room 7, a three bed room). Breakfast was top range the service, very polite and quick. Overall a friendly, helpful place to stay. Would recommend it to anyone. The pub 200 yards away was also handy for other meals,no transport needed. The 26 Bus leaves there for Stratford. Worth the trip.

We have just stayed for 2 nights at Coughton Lodge. We were at a weekend wedding at Alcester Rugby Club which is just up the road. The rooms were lovely and the one we had for 3 of us was really spacious. Our friends stayed in one of the doubles which was a bit smaller but still altogether just as lovely. The bathroom was really clean which is an absolute must for me. The breakfast was lovely and the staff are very friendly. Overall, a very enjoyable weekend, the weather for the wedding was fantastic.

Our first impressions as we drove into the car park were very good, it looked antiquitous and very welcoming- how wrong we were about the welcoming part, we were greeted by an envelope pinned to a board which stated we would be met in the A.M, we never met Caroline or Grahame. However, they had done a wonderful job at decorating the place. The rooms were immaculately clean and well furnished, the complimentary drinks were very appreciated. Breakfast was delicious and the wait staff were very polite, they catered for all our requirements although we were surprised when our plates were promptly taken from us whilst others were still eating, not very good dining etiquette, but aside from that it was very enjoyable. The location was nice and there was a pub that served food was only a stone's throw away! Pros- Friendly staff, clean rooms, well furnished, good food, good value. Cons- NO RECEPTION!, greeted by an envelope, poor dining etiquette. I would reccomend this place to a friend :)

We had a most enjoyable week at Coughton Lodge, large room, very comfortable kingsize bed, many extras in the bedroom and excellent breakfast. It is most friendly and the best B & B we have stayed in, also with good parking and we hope to stay there frequently on our visits to the UK.

We arrived early friday evening, the room key was left exactly as Graham said. Initial impressions as we walked through reception was wow this is realy realy nice The room was absolutely lovely and spotless and with everything you needed, and the oak beams were a very attractive feature and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast the next day was lovely and certainly filling. During our three night stay we could not fault anything. All in all you could not wish for a more friendly and pleasing place to book a break,so much so we are returning in May. TIM & MAZ DION.

We stayed here for the weekend of our first wedding anniversary in the four poster room and felt a million miles away from home, both Caroline & Graham made us feel very welcome and gave us the sole use of there swimming pool, for hospitality and a warm friendly atmosphere, you will find it hard to beat the coughton lodge,a lovely getaway with a top class service.

I refer to the review of Mr Mc Gregor on the subject of the stay at Coughton Lodge, I am sorry that the breakfast was a disappointment to them and appreciate the constructive criticism which has helped me to improve no end I am also sorry that the family rooms were not available, and thatI did not forewarn them of the swimming pool availability This however was my own privare pool, offered due to the hot weather I am sorry that they did not bring their swimming togs as most kids love a splash Maybe I will get another chance G Cooke

Coughton Lodge is within a short driving distance of Stratford-upon-Avon. We had 3 rooms for our family because they had already booked the family rooms. The Lodge is a lovely old building with a rill water feature running through the central courtyard. It was a very hot day when we arrived and the owner asked if we were going to use the swimming pool. We would have loved to make use of it, but we were not informed over the phone or on the literature that they had a pool and consequently did not have swimsuits. The rooms were all decorated pleasantly in silver and blue, though not in keeping with the lovely old building. It could have been a lovely bed and breakfast, if it were not for the experience at breakfast. As a family of 5, who had booked as that, we were taken aback that they did not prepare a table for five and instead one of the children had to sit on a garden chair. Also I have never been to any bed and breakfast (particularly one charging £180 for the night £60 per room x 3) who expects guests to make their own tea and coffee from 2 kettles and catering packs of drinks. We were asked if we wanted full breakfast, but before we had said what we wanted (e.g no beans etc) the girl had gone away and returned with 5 plates full of what I would expect from a transport cafe. Consequently the children and ourselves hardly touched it. We regularly stay in B&B/hotels in the UK and have never been served tinned tomatoes and deep fried frozen hash browns. Even the sausages and beans were cheap. It's such a pity, in so many ways, it could be very nice, but for the owners obviously economising on the food it's let down. We would never return.
