Our experience of The Railway was sadly quite negative. On a Wednesday night we were just looking for a quiet meal for two and as soon as we entered we were told there was a wait for food, with no apology, as if they just wanted us to leave. We were in no hurry so bought drinks and decided to wait. We then made several attempts to order out food, just to get in the queue, but were repeatedly told they were 'too busy to take our orders yet'. We were told they would come and take our orders at half past 8 and at ten to 9 we were still waiting but they had proceeded to take the orders of two tables that had come in after us. We went to leave, asking on the way if there was any point us staying, and were quite rudely told we should have made ourselves known. We had repeatedly asked for service from this very woman, who seemed to be in charge. We left with no food, and no apology.
