We have had lunch here several times over the years and the food has been good It is an ok place but strangers beware do read the Blackboard carefully and note that if you wish to request a minor change or departure from the set menu you will get charged for it My wife who is T2D cannot eat spuds or parsnips so asked for extra set menu veggies instead No problem, but do read the small print at the bottom of the blackboard which states that any alteration for the menu will cost from £1 - £3.00 extra Too late we had ordered but when you consider that to remove the spuds and parsnips for a little extra veg you would think that the price would not alter at all, wrong we were charged £2.00 extra for the privilege ok not a lot of money but seems a little harsh. On refection maybe the lass who took our order should /could have pointed this out and we then had the option of leaving the spuds and parsnips or done a swap between us So we will vote with our feet and not go back so watch out and don't get caught if you visit the Fox

Had lunch today at the pub, jolly good too. Lovely & friendly welcome,i had a wedge of steak & kidney pie (proper pie,not in a dish with a shattering puff pastry top).Scrummy gravy & lovely local vegetables jolly well cooked. Booked for sunday lunch can't wait, if it's as good as the pie i will be in heaven.10 out of 10 in my book.

What a nice find. We were on a cycling holiday for 10, lodging in the area. Nell looks after the Bar, and husband Brian excels in the kitchen, and Jane serves it up. Superb quality food presented well. Just remember though for seating, it's a small friendly Pub, not a huge faceless restaurant.

Ate there Sat evening, and were fitted in despite their being quite busy. A warm welcome and excellent food left a lasting impression, and I would certainly recommend the Fox. Enjoyed the local cider too!

We were camping at Mill Hill Campsite at Westleton and decided to pop around the corner to the Fox. What a unique place. Prices very reasonable for the area and the food was great. I had the Suffolk pork loin with cider and mustard sauce which was delicious and the rhubarb and apple crumble was great too. The pub also had the cleanest male toilets I have ever seen in my life and the pub itself was spotless, no sticky. beery tables or dirty floors. Definitely go there again next time we are in the area.

We found this pub after exploring the area whilst on holiday at Westleton. What a lovely pub and a wonderful place to eat the food was excellent. We have "Fox Steak" a chef special with his own sauce, we took a chance. Absolultely fabulous, the steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce delicious. Would recommend this pub to anyone in the area.

I would just like to say thank you for the lovely comments, a great webb page. A real pity i can't say the same about some of the other sites, which have unfortunatley got the info all wrong. We don't do aftrenoon tea,we don't do quiz night's & we don't music in the evenings. What we do do is food & very good food judging from all your lovely comment's. BRIAN is an excellent chef he's been at it for 41 years, started at 14years old, when he first became interested, went to cookery school came out well quallified. The rest is history, head chef for both of Liverpools football club's,as part of his very impressive C V. Hes got some lovely stories to tell, come & meet him & me, my name is Nell by the way i'm your meeter & greeter. Oh & also the landlady. Please keep the comment's comming in, we aprciatate them. Again thank you. Regards NELL. X

my husband and i found this delightful pub on one of our many getting lost drives ha. we were so pleased we saw this pub and went in hoping to get something o eat the meal we had was one of the very best, the lady who served us very friendly. I meant to write down the name of the pub and where it was but forgot, hence memory block as we find many pubs on our travels, what i always remembered was a house oppisite which had the most beautiful wild flower garden in full bloom, when we were there in the summer. we sat outside with great food looking out over to the poppies hollyhocks ect a lovely visit. we have tried to find the pub again with no luck until yesterday, when I was out with my neighbour for a drive and lo and behold , we turned a corner and there was the pub my husband and I had been looking for. so when my hubby comes home we will definitly be going back for a meal, as I wrote down this time exactly where it was. a great place.

A great little pub with friendly welcoming staff. We called in on Saturday and had a lovely time in the newly revamped beer garden. Returned on Sunday for lunch; truly great; both beef & pork dishes were excellent, served with plenty of fresh seasonal veg and all the trimmings; the apple & blackberry crumble and custard was spot on. Well worth a visit, will call again when in the area.

We travelled from Whitstable, Kent to Darsham on Saturday and arrived in time for lunch. A brightly burning log fire greeted us with Christmas decorations and a Christmas tree made the pub very welcoming. THe Landlady greeted us making us feel very welcome. We gave our order and I had the steak and kidney pudding with beautifully cooked fresh vegetables, which was delicious. My husband had the lasagne with a salad and chips, which he said was the best he had ever tasted. WE did make room for a desert which was the apple and blackberry crumble and I had the Sherry triffle - Delicious. As we have to visit Darsham on occasions we will always go to the Fox Inn for our meals. The cleanliness everywhere also impressed us -why cant all pubs be like this - a real treasure.

We went for lunch yesterday after reading the reviews,I will say I was a bit sceptical, but we were not disapointed.I had the steak & kidney pudding,FANTASTIC Jane's choice was the beer battered cod fillet,to die for she said. I would give The Fox Inn 4 stars if it was in my power to do so. We shall be going back & very soon. ps. Nell & Brian even let us use there computer, they do'nt no we've written this.

Well what a lovely village pub, roaring log fires, and a very welcoming Landlady to greet you, having just had a Sunday lunch, The beef just melted in your mouth, vegatables were cooked to perfection, and all locally grown, nothing was to much for the staff they were very helpful and pleasant, which is hard to find in this day and age. It was very reasonably at £7.95 for l course or £9.95 for 2 courses. We will be going back, from 2 very satisfied customers
