The Last Inn was recommended to us by my Aunt, who has eaten in this establishment several times in the past. Having been there on 14 May 2007, I can definitely say that we WILL NEVER go back to it again. Although there was a set menu and an a la carte menu, we fancied a starter from the set menu, making it clear to the waitress that we were prepared to pay for it - we were not after anything special, nor any special deal. However, the chef would not allow it, nor would come out to see us to explain - he was "too busy" despite the restaurant being only half full. We spoke with the manager and he the chef and guess what - the chef rules - not the manager. Who is in charge for goodness sake? Certainly not the manager. The chef is obviously so far up himself that he is too proud to mix with his customers. In the vast majority of restaurants, including many in the same area, the chefs are only too willing to accommodate their customers wherever possible and often come out to meet them. But not this one - not even an explanation - not a face-to-face discussion, just an emphatic 'no'. So, if you want an unfriendly experience and a chef that doesn't care about his customers, this is the place for you. If you want consideration and customer care - AVOID The Last Inn Church Aston like the plague !!
