Myself and my wife stayed here for 3 nights and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very friendly and helpfull, and Julian the manager always greeted you with a friendly chat i can only say he should be very proud of his staff. As for the rooms they are basic but clean and comfortable the only down side we found was the bathroom was very small. But dont let this put you off,the plus side to the hotel was the cosy snug room with the lovely fire. And as for one review i read complaining about the food we ate there all three nights and was not at all dissapointed, thanks to everyone for a great stay.

The website and exterior of this establishment are both let down by the actual experience of eating there. Sunday lunchtime you would expect a roast dinner offering, and they had that available BUT only for the first few diners that came through the door! Not even 1 hour into serving and the message was in poor english we have roast beef or pork, but mainly pork and not much of that either, and the restraunt was only just starting to get busy. The lady who appeared to be in charge clealy had a problem with body odour - not pleasant when you go somewhere to eat; the rest of the staff were keen to take the initial order but trying to get their attention to get more drinks or pay the bill was a frustrating experience. Not a venue I will be recommending to friends and family

Fantastic rooms and service. We stayed here (my wife, mother and myself) on holiday from California, and experienced the best rooms and service of anywhere we stayed in the U.K.. The manager was particularly helpful and friendly(wish I could remember his name).

We booked this hotel via the internet not knowing what to expect after reading previous reviews. We were delighted, we had a cottage room which was away from the main hotel and very private. The facilities were extremely good. As it was my birthday we had our evening meal in the hotel resturant. The service was excellent, the food was lovely, tasty and well presented. The waiting staff were efficient, friendly and polite. It was just what I needed. Bourton in October was quietish and relaxing just the place to unwind. We would certainly use this hotel again.
