I just love the Five Bells. I find it hard to believe that no one was interested in your mother's story. The locals are wonderful and very social. I do hope you give it another chance, it may be that it was not the landlord you were talking to. Next time you go ask for Alistair Davidson, my cousin, he will love your story and make sure everyone there here's it. The landlord's name is Martin. They also have very good meals there. I can't wait to go back but it's a long was from Canada.

Did not feel welcome. The landlord/person behind the bar had no conversation.
Although we told him we had our 87 year old mother with us who was brought up in the village and remembered living at the pub during the war.
Not interested. Will not go there again.
