after seeing soso reviews we decided to try the inn on the green. It was a tuesday evening and there was four of us, we wasnt dissapponited it was lovely, the servise was friendly more professional than your average pub and the food was great, you actually felt youd had a proper meal which doesnt happen very often nowadays. The bar and restaurant were both bustling with people which we didnt expect on a tuesday. as we were having a nosy around they have won numerous awards and really deserve them if what we had is anything to go by. good look to them we'll be back and reccomend it!

visited after seeing rave review in the journal magazine and completely agree, this is the way it should be done. Fabulous food and very friendly, helpfull service, this really is a hidden little gem. Was very busy for mid-week so just goes to show they are doing very well. I will definatelly recommend this place to all friends and businesses. I will be back regular now i know its here. Excellent! Just reading the last couple of reviews and totally disagree, try it for yourselves and you wont be dissappointed. I wonder why it took the last person on the last review nearly 4 months before he wrote in...

Not a place that I will visit again. The only redeeming feature was the beer. Both the service and welcome was poor and the food I had put in front of me was reminiscent of an olde worlde greasy spoon only without any taste.

Remembering how good this place was, we went back for a meal when visiting friends. How disappointing. The food was quite good but the service wasn't. When seated with a wine list there were no food menus to be seen. The waitress asked what drinks we would like and we said 'we arent sure, please could we see a food menu?' (so we can decide which wine to have with which food). The waitress said 'the menus are over there' pointing at the side of the restaurant making no effort to bring them to us. My partner got up and fetched them himself. She hadnt even mentioned the specials menu which we later noticed on the blackboard on the far wall. 2 mins after getting the menus the waitress came back to ask what we would like to order and we hadnt yet chosen so we asked for a couple more minutes...she must have returned to our table 15 mins later which was frustrating as the restaurant only had one other table in (and they had just received their main course). We ordered and the food took about half an hour to arrive. There was no meal check. Once finished we waited for the bill which never came after failed attempts to attract anyones attention so my partner went to the bar to ask for it. The male owner was behind the bar having a drink with his friends and when asked for the bill he arrogantly called over another member of staff to get the bill ready and proceeded to ignore my partner. Nice touch! We won't be returning.

Having been away for a few months over christmas an New Year this is my first chance to play catch up on the nice places ive eaten at. Another lovely meal and service, this time there was 6 of us for sunday lunch and it was quite late on in the afternoon around 4pm.Theyd been busy so ran out of Roast Pork so 4 of us had the Roast beef which was lovely, tasty an tender and the other 2 eating haddock which was more like a whale, yummy! Nice selection of veg again rather than the usual boring stuff like peas, cauliflower etc. Shall keep going back and reccommending it.

We went to the Inn on the Green for Sunday lunch. The beef was tough, the gravy tasteless and the vegetables served with this traditional meal were leeks, aubergines and courgettes. When I complained to the owner that I was disappointed with the meal she couldn't have cared less. No apology, no nothing. From the time we walked in she was abrupt and never smiled or was pleasant in any way. We won't be back!

I agree with the last review! Having visited on saturday with a friend, excellent! Superb food and the service was spot on. I had the steak, which actually tasted like steak and was very tender, the chips were to die for. My friend had the paella which was a real novelty, served in a frying pan so you could help yourself, lovely realy lovely. We both had dessert followed by coffee and was full to the brim. Really enjored it! Will definately go back and reccommend it to everyone.

I can only assume that the people writing the above reviews have some sort of axe to grind. I took my family of four to The Inn on the Green at Ingham with some trepidation as I'd read some indifferent reviews but I can heartily recommend the place. The restaurant was fully booked but the bar menu is extensive and quite adventurous in places. Service was friendly and extremely efficient, the atmosphere was cosy and convivial and our food came in generous and delicious portions. At the end of the evening our bill for four three-course meals and drinks was £86 - terrific value for money. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the place and I will definitely be going back soon

my husband and i, along with another couple visited the inn on the green on saturday night for a meal, it was absolutely terrible beyond belief. the starters came, i had olives, which were soggy and old and totally disgusting, my husband had soup, which was leek and potato, straight from a packet and vile with no bread, and my friend had pate again with no bread. we were asked if the starters were ok and we said they were awful, nothing was done. the main course took over an hour to appear. i had risotto which was a plate of slop and inedible, my husband and two friends had steaks which were stone cold and as tough as old boots. we were asked if the main courses were ok and we said they were awful, the waitress said lovely and walked off. we asked to see the owner/manager, who was behind the bar, she couldn't have cared less, we got £10 knocked off the bill. we will never go back and i would advise everyone to keep as far away as possible, it ruined our evening lookink back we should not have paid any of the bill.

I visited the pub with two of my friends and we were immediately struck by the friendly atmosphere and impressed with the extensive menu. The food came out and looked fantastic. The presentation was beautiful. However, I had ordered steak with a peppercorn sauce and when I tasted it , the steak had clearly gone off! I asked my friends to taste it to see what they thought and as they raised it to their mouths they said they couldn't, because it smelt awful. I told the waitress and she took it away and asked me if I wanted another one! I ordered Thai Veg. curry instead, which was delicious and both my friends meals were excellent. However, I am left feeling really disappointed that I didn't once receive an apology for the steak that I had been served, nor was I offered so much as a complimentary drink whilst I waited for my replacement meal to be cooked. We were charged the full bill. I just feel really let down that such a quality establishment treated its customers in such a way.

George Adams Taste of Excellance Award 2007/2008. Good pub Guide 2007 and 2008. Both awards very much deserved. My partner and myself were greeted by friendly and polite staff who did all they could to make us welcome. We were not rushed to order, but our order was taken as soon as we were ready. I't was just a short while before being shown to our seats and the freshly prepared food was delivered to our table. The taste and presentation of the meal was superb, and I believe you would have to travel far to get anything that would be as good. I shall return often. My thanks to all concerned.
