Stayed with my wife for four nights at the Strathaven Hotel in the attractive little town of Strathaven (stray-vin). The staff were very friendly and helpful, food excellent, room adequate in size and very clean. Plenty of parking space and spacious lounges. Highly recommended.

Friendly reception. Comfortable room. Good bathroom. Room appeared to be smoke-free! parking facilities good.,"I already knew the reputation of the hotel from my relatives who live locally. We have dined in the hotel on occasions over the last 37 years. It was nice to have a room where we could turn the heating down/off and also open windows easily. I think I had enough information before arriving and the staff could not have been more solicitous. We only had breakfast the following morning, and missed our first night due to missing 'plane from France, so cannot comment on food etc. Breakfast was okay - the haddock delicious."
