Never have i met a landlady so miserable who does not deserve to be a tennant in such a good pub. She,d Rather go out on the town & shut the pub early to do so & make regulars drink up SO SHE CAN GO OUT ! Hope the brewery kicks her out & get a decent Landlord in so we regulars etc can enjoy our Local again.

This is my local pub and I love it. Am allowed to bring my dog into the pub which is always a bonus and the bar staff always make a fuss of him. Always served promptly and can always have friendly banter with Suzie and other staff there. Food is great (expecially when Jude makes a mash potato volcano with peas and lots of lovely gravy!) Although there are other pubs near by I always prefer to visit here.

On a chilly day I popped into this 'pub' with my daughter for a pub lunch having attended an open day at the college. Suzanne, the person behind the bar, was as chilly as the weather - she obviously had never been taught the words please or thank you. Stupidly we ordered a meal but spotted a roaring log fire to be told someone was sitting there. My meal arrived, swimming in gravy and we sat hudled roung a calor gas fire (only 1 ring burning) alongide other diners. To my amazement, the 'people' sitting around the log fire turned out to be the staff. The owners of this establishment are taking the michael - don't go here if you want 'a warm and friendly atmosphere'as they claim on their business cards. Why run a pub if you have a sour expression and an obvious dislike for people who pay your wages...eg your customers!!

If you actually talk to the bar maids then you find out they are actually alright.

We had a very very nice lunch here today and my baked potato/cheese/ham/salad was perfect, also Hubbys meal too. I do agree that the young Lady serving at the bar could be far more welcoming with a smile which is always nice and in these harder times could be helpful. I like the area and the parking is to my liking as I can put the car under the trees to shade for our little dog and this is very important. We will most certainly be returning. Don't bother going here. Any pub that employs such a barperson as we met here doesn't deserve to survive and that's not counting the huge TV that was on but no-one watching! Beer was OK and lunch snack was good but never again unless it changes its staff. That goes for the other 2 couples that were sitting out in the garden and had made the same comments.

Was travelling through Hartpury and stopped for a meal at this pub - food was good, service was good, but oh dear the bar maid had a sour face, didn't smile once, glared at me when I was warming in front of the fire. Reception on entering was "yes" no good evening or a bright cheery hello. Sad thing was we had just come from Hereford races after having a great win and had loads of money to spend but we left as we were not made welcome. The other sad thing which has made me really angry I've just called to speak to the manager - it was a female who referred to herself as Jenkins - she had the same attitdue as the bar main - couldn't give a hoot about me or my feedback she was not interested and had the same don't care approach, she didn't even apologise. Give this one a miss........
