Fantastic food one of the best pub meals I have had in a long time. The landlord was very helpful and found us a table for 8 people which isn't easy at short notice. The bar staff and the waitresses were also very help and pleasant. Thanks again for making our Dad's 76th birthday special.

A group of us visited for Sunday lunch which was very good indeed - the portions were huge and the food delicious. The staff were very welcoming and the whole experience was very enjoyable indeed. As for some comments about the pub not welcoming children, all I can say is - thank God for that! It's a pub, not a creche and it's very nice to be able to enjoy good food in a relaxed adult environment without disruptive children!

Stopped in for lunch while looking at properties loved it great pub and NO KIDS sorry but pubs are for adults love this , brings memories back of when I was outside in the beer garden with lemonade and chips mum and dad inside . Sorry sometimes we all crave adult company and don't need screaming children in the background !!

For good, well cooked and honest food visit the Glasshouse. It is my favourite pub of all time. Some reviews have made it sound like the Landlord is rude and unpleasant...nothing could be further from the the truth. Granted his jokes can sometimes be an acquired taste! It is true that the place is often heaving and so one does sometimes have to vacate a table to allow other diners to eat. There seem to have been some precious folk before who obviously couldn't drink standing up. If you can't do that then you have probably had enough or are elderley and infirm in which case a chair would be found! Definitely worth a visit.

This is my favourite pub of all time. It's so popular that sometimes getting a table is like trying to get the best bargain during the sales. It's popularity is deserved though. Friendly landlord, great ales and tip top food. Gorgeous garden too. Love it, love it, love it.

Very expensive and they wont take children under 14 years old. they said "we dont mind if they sit in the garden" - charming, so if you have children under 14, you can sit and have your meal but your child wont be able to or will have to sit outside. nice.

I visited the glasshouse for dinner with my girlfriend and found the food to be fantastic. My Ribeye steak was cooked to perfection. There was a relaxing atmosphere as we enjoyed our meals sat by the roaring fire. For desert we shared a sticky toffee pudding which was utterly delicious, will definately be making a return visit.

Yesterday,on recommendation we had lunch at your pub.The food we received was more than disappointing, verging on the inedible. The pork and ham rissoles especially didnot appear to contain any meat of the above description and tasted of lard and some form of offal. I suffered bouts of nausea for many hours afterwards and will certainly never return.

I am a frequent visiter to the pub and am generally quite satisfied with the service provided. This particular visit was disappointing however, as I found numerous hairs throughout my lamb shank meal, which, I hasten to add- was quite looking forward to. I will certainly be writing an angry letter describing my ordeal in detail, at how angry I am. This was the least of my troubles when the waiter decided he would ask us to leave after 'making a fuss', how rude!

Excellent....10th anniversary dinner for 4, good food, good service, Owner replaced red sparking wine when should have been Rose Champagne (probably my fault) no problem. Would recommend it to anyone..lovely setting too.

Food was very good and highly recommended - although everything came with frozen chips! Landlord, however is NOT recommended. We were a party of six and were TOLD, not asked, to move on. As soon as we'd finished our main course the plates were whipped away and before we could decide on desserts and coffee we were told, quite rudely, to pay the bill and 'free' the table. Obviously, he could see more pound signs from main courses than our desserts!! This is not a welcoming place. It's not the customers who are valued but the amount that goes in to the till. We will not be paying a return visit.

This pub is one of the nicest for food i have ever been to. Honestly, not alot comes close. It is in a beautiful location being part way up may hill and with a lovely beer garden. The prices are reasonable and the beer is good. The only downside is the size, it is not so small as to be cramped but just cosy. However ths means when its busy and you,ve finished your food you normaly get asked to move on. As far as food goes, if you like a good meal with a plate heaving, this is the place for you. My reccomendation is the lamb shank. The meat literaly falls off the bone and tastes like nothing else. ***** food!

The pub has a tradional feel to it and the food (no starters or puddings just good old fashioned honest grub) is sumptuous BUT if you are looking for a quiet pub to relax and just sup a pint in then this one isn't for you. There is a tiny area set aside for drinking with the rest of the pub given over to eating. The food is incredibly popular (understandably so) that people wait for tables to come free and the landlord has been known to ask you to free up a table once you've finished your meal (even if you want to carry on drinking). There is no separate dining area so, unfortunately, children are not allowed into the bar but are welcomed into the beer garden in the summer. All that said if it's good cooking you're after you should give it a try.
