My husband booked this as a surprise for our 25th Wedding Anniversary, ours was a garden room, which was dingy and smelt musty, the shower was dirty and was either scalding hot or freezing cold, the room had a rusty colour carpet that had big black marks all over it, and I dont think the room had been decorated for a long time, did not use the pool as it was full of leaves, breakfast is served in the basement, at formica tables, broken floor tiles, and a broken window taped up with cardboard, we had originally booked for 3 nights but only stayed 2, this hotel needs a total makeover to live up to its brochure.Date visited: 8th August 2008

Very overpriced. In need of up-dating. Forget using the pool unless it's summer. It was FREEZING and in a conservatory which was damp and very cold inside. Very poor changing facilities (tatty and run-down)1 pathetic shower.
Food excellent but very meagre choice on the menu. Mainly a conference hotel. Would not come back here again.
