in response to Review by christina on 21st April, 2010 there is no one dog to a pitch rule at all i have been going to the site for a number of rules and there are plenty of people who take more than one dog on the site with them, and as someone who has a permanent pitch my dog is always on his long lead and is never let off i do agree with some people not abiding the rule but the rules for visitors and the rules for regulars are all the same it is not one rue for them and another rule for us.

I booked the site for the weekend for my family to visit. We found the manageress to be extremely rude, Hitler had better manners, Yes we did get a little noisy due to enjoying ourselves, the time was approximately 11:30pm,we were aware the cut off time was midnight, but if she wanted us to be quiet all she had to do was ask, instead she went loud, abusive and threatening, not even the decency to knock on the door only shouted from outside for everone to hear. It is ashame, as the park is very clean and well looked after but spoilt by an unruly manager. I think the owner should re-apoint a new manager and the park will easely pick up more trade.

We will never go back to this site. The wardens wife was extremely abusive and they now have a 1 dog only per pitch rule which is not advertised any where. The dogs on leads rule also seems to only apply to touring caravans as the sited people let their dogs roam on site.My niece was chased and nearly bitten on the legs by one such dog.The wardens did nothing. This site could be a gem but its good name has been tarnished by poor management and dreadful customer service.

This place was Colditz, run like a nazi concentration camp with more rules than one. Yes, it is a clean site, but they are completely child unfriendly, and have one rule for visitors, and another rule for thier cronies who visit regularly. I wouldn't kennel my dog in this place, and I recommend anyone to avoid it like the plague.

Had a fantastic weekend a this friendly site, the owners work extremely hard to keep this site so clean, and running so efficiently. The beer was well priced and very convienient as bar was on site with a cracking little pool table and serving very well presented bar meals that were very resonably priced. We couldn't believe there was entertainment on all weekend as you would not expect this of such a small site, there did seem to be a lot of regular/static pitches (one of which i would like) i have not seen a site so well run, priced and convienient to a local town and with the added extra of a bar on site. We will certainly be returning. p.s tried the ham after reading other reviews and it was wonderful.

We felt it necessary to compliment this lovely site. Weather was horrendous for summer but our children had such a lovely time playing on this site. As it isn't huge we felt safe letting them ride around on their bikes etc and they made friends quickly with others on holiday. The toilets were spotless the whole time we were there, which is a first for anywhere we,ve stay'd whilst caravanning!! We enjoy'd the facilities on site on the weekends and throough the week ventured out and about around town and neighbouring villages. Thank you for a lovely break and we hope to reurn very soon.

Beautiful site, very well-kept. Nice facilities and only a short walk into Monmouth town. Not much for kids to do on the site and half of it was made up of residential vans and I felt very self-concious of them as they seemed to be watching us, especially our children. The residents are mostly older people and seemed very clicky. The site was so quiet and I kept telling my children to be quiet as I felt the other vanners didn't take kindly to noise! Would visit again but not until my children are much older!

Great Site if you looking for clean, personnal, friendly and great location. We stayed just for 3 nights and enjoy'd it very much. We play'd pool in the stylish, functional Bar/restaurant, the women were happy as they play'd bingo and the food and drinks were very well priced and food excellent well presented and just great home cooking. Ham was delicious. This is one site we will be returning too!!

We play'd bingo had a quiz and a bit of a sing along in the evening spent most days walking the short distance into town where there is plenty to see and do. Will definitely be returning soon.

just browsing on the internet and saw i could leave a review for this fantastic site. Its very well priced for the condition it is kept in the locality, and services of friendly stocked bar on site that also serves great meals in peak season (many of which home cooked~) staff are second to none, really make u feel at home almost as if your one of the family. we stayed for several bank holidays when we had real fun in the bar management giving away prizes, bingo, quiz a lot of work and thought went into the entertainment. it is anything but clicky, and everyone just has fun. it has beautiful scenery around and it perfect in everyway. The only downside is i can't be there more there is a few permanent pitches but being such a great site i can't imagine anyone wanting to leave...ever.

I have been going to Monmouth Caravan Park for about 10 years now, and i have enjoyed every moment there. The toliets and shower block are always kept clean and tidy, the club house is always very respectable and the field is always kept under hand. The meals are very nice and the prices are reasonable too. The managment are all very friendly and others that work there. I have had some great times there and hopefully many more to come.

Re John Waggstaff. John, quite a few sites will not let unmarked or signpainted vans(transits and such)on site. I quite agree with them. One site in Essex that I was on allowed them. The result was that two of them were comming and going at all hous of the night. Not travelers but dealers going out and buying stuff.

I do not think anyone would be disappointed with this Caravan Park. It is well situated, just a few minutes walk and you are in the centre of Monmouth town. The caravn park is well kept and the toilet and shower block are always clean. They have a clubhouse on site which is open on the week-ends. They have a range of Bar Meals available and often run a specials menu, I think the prices are very reasonable and there is always plenty of food on the plate. They often have entertainment and usually bingo on Saturdays along with karaoke. The campsite is secured at night, the gates being locked between 10-00 and 11-00 and reopened at 8.00 in the morning. Believe me you will not be disappointed.

Worst campsite I have ever visited and I have visited a lot. I own a 2 year old caravan and three vehicles, a Landover an open top sportscar and a Fiat van. I decided to take the van for convenience. I made the booking over the phone, which was accepted. When I arrived I was told that I must leave the van on the car park as the owner did not like commercial vehicles on the site. I was only there for two nights so I complied. The next day I went out and returned at 6.00pm. When I returned the gate was locked and there was no one on reception. I rang the site and a woman answered. I asked why I had been locked out. The reply was ‘oh no duck, it’s not locked just push the gate, we had to close it for security reasons as there are some gypsies about’. It was not until I hung up that I realised that she meant me. Obviously if there was a security issue then I needed to keep an eye on my van, especially as it was worth more than most of the cars on the site, so I parked it next to my caravan. The point of this rant is: The people who own and operate this site are obviously very narrow minded. The site was well kept but felt very ‘clicky’. If this site is going to attract tourers then they should expect a variety of different rigs coming through their gates. If they are going to discriminate against people then they should be clear when they take the booking as to who they will be welcoming, however as far as I am concerned once they take your money you should be entitled to the same facilities as everyone else.
