Lovely food after visiting with my mum and 12 year old cousin. Service at the bar was great and the waiter was even better. I ordered the mackerel pate to start and it was delicious. The attentive waiter could see that I had plenty of pate left but no more toast so he kindly asked if I wanted more toast and brought it to me a few minutes later, he really was very professional and pleasant. We all enjoyed our food and the 2 course set menu for only £7.50 is a great offer and well worth it when the food is so good. I thoroughly recommend the pate and the duo of salmon and trout from the specials board. Ooh the white chocolate tiramisu is pretty good too.

I booked a table for 4 at the Red Lion Llandybie for 8.15 pm 22/01/11. We arrived at around 8pm & ordered drinks at the bar & informed bar staff we had a table booked for 8.15pm. The pub was quite busy so expected a little delay, we were still seated in bar at around 9.15pm so reminded staff. Eventually taken to table ordered our meals which did not arrive until after 10pm!! The food was just average not as good as usual & we felt rushed as they were starting to clear room up. We paid cash but there was around £5 change which we were going to leave as tip anyway but no change brought anyway. Must admit all 4 of us who eat there quite regularly were a little disappointed with the service espcially & meal this time.

Called today at the Red Lion at Llandybie, had a lovely welcome and a really tasty meal, there was plenty of choice and a good variety. The price was reasonableThe restaurant was quite busy as it was a dissapointingly cold, grey, wet day. The atmosphere was very cosy and we had a chance to chat without feeling in the way. well done, will call again.

Booked for Sunday lunch on May bank holiday. Had a warm welcome and a relaxing drink in the bar whist looking over the menu. Our order was taken in the bar and when our starters were ready we were called through to one of the cosy dining rooms. The food was excellant, v. tasty and well presented. Even the hard to please chef amongst us was impressed. Excellant food and v.good value. Will definately be returning.

The car park was lethal due to the ice/snow. No one had gritted it. My pregnant fiance nearly fell flat on the floor. The service at the bar was below average. The bar staff were not very friendly and we were not made to feel welcome. However, the drinks were ok ... i had a bottle of heineken and my better half had a pepsi on tap. The service in the restaurant was more disappointing than at the bar. We felt rushed to place our order and the waitresses were very abrupt. The food was absolutely terrible. For starters we had "garlic mushrooms" (deep fried) which were served with a dollop of mayonnaise and a pitiful amount of salad. Not what we had expected. The main course (Sunday dinner) was reminiscent of school dinners. I love my food, but I simply couldn't eat it ... the turkey was like thick turkey ham. My fiance and our two guests were shocked by the whole experience. The poor service combined with the appalling food led us all to agree that this was the worst restaurant we had ever been to. This review may sound harsh ... maybe they had an "off-day", but it is a genuine representation of this venue on this occasion.

I had booked for 16 people which was confirmed for xmas dinner only to be told when I rang to give the order on the 10th that I had been crossed out. Tell my close friend really upset me. I just hope I can find a replacement venue within two days.

went for Fathers day lunch at the Red Lion in Llandybie and had a really good roast dinner. Despite it being very busy food arrived quickly, lots of it good qaulity especially the beef. Being a sad lager and lime drinker I was really impressed with the lager very nice pint. Puddings also very good lots of them so well worth a visit.
