New owners this summer now unfriendly towards children and pretentious bar meals followed up with drab beer and the worst cider you could ever mistakenly taste. It was a lovely local.

great country pub under new management, spent best part of jubilee weekend in kilham. Lovely village with friendly locals, the pub has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Large beer garden out the back, weather permitting! Food is really tasty and in decent portions had beef shin on the sat and roast on sunday, they also do fish on friday which was better than whitby's finest I had a few days prior to visit. real ales for the boys and decent wines for the girls. wish I could spend every weekend there, can't wait to go back

I have eaten at Ye Old Star Inn this weekend and I want to heartily recommend it. I ate a "Star Gazer Pork Stack". I am still thinking about this days later. You have to try this if you like porky goodness. It was a stack made of a good piece of belly pork, a piece of thick cut and tender gammon, a slice or two of delicious bacon, there were slices of black pudding in there and it was wet with a cider cream sauce. It was lush. I was told it was local meat and the black pudding was homemade. The beer was awesome and I sank a few pints of "guzzler" and "golden son" which were very drinkable blonde ales from york brewery. So I heartily recommend a visit.
