Been meaning to write a review for sometime. Can't believe that there are so few on the web-site. The Plough and Harrow is absolutely lovely. Fantastic food and friendly service. Robin and Bernadette are more than Landlords. They make every customer feel welcome and are keen to give the very best service. Lovely, cosy, friendly welcoming pub. We shall be there again in February Angela Hayes

Excellent food, wine and beers. The chef, John has worked in many high quality kitchens both nationally and internationally. The pub is gradually being brought back to life and is well worth a visit. Please go. You will not regret it. Adrian Winbow.

Set in a charming location in the Cuckmere Valley, 'The Plough and Harrow' has become a hot spot for both walkers, village locals and others who hear by word of mouth about the splendid cuisine created by talented chef John Bowell. John has a impressive resume, starting his training at the famous Westminster catering college which has turned out the likes of Jamie Oliver. He then went on to become Head Chef at DiMarco's in Uckfield, a thriving Italian in Uckfield that was well known for it atmosphere and fantastic food. He then was head hunted to work with Head Chef Neil Bennet of '272' in Newick where he worked alongside and expanded his knowledge of French and European Cusine and Fine Dining. Then we must move to the Plough and Harrow. John and Des (the Landlord) have worked tirelessly to put some spark back into the pub after they took over around a year ago, encouraging a range of people with its successful, 'open-mic' and quiz nights. The friendly atmosphere and good quality, completly home made menu pub menu makes it a pub worthy going that little bit out of your journey to experience a great time.
