Nice to meet the landlord again, he's only been there since 2011 so please ignore all the old reviews. Great place for a drink, good company food and atmosphere. I'll be going back soon. Best wishes Alan.

Went there in late autumn sunshine. One of the best pubs I've been to.Very cheerful landlord and efficient waitresses. Good choices from the menu. All in all, a very pleasent experience.

Having heard good reports in the past, three of us went for lunch expecting a good range of dishes. Luckily we looked at the menu before ordering drinks and found it utterley disappointing. We left and had an excellent lunch at the Hoxne Swan..

We looked forward to having a drink at the de la Pole Arms, having visited there before its previous closure. I regret that my pint of Adnams was flat, completely flat. I tried to drink it, but left feeling slightly ill. I'm sorry, but such a lovely pub should know how to serve its beer...

Myself and four freinds decided to try the De la Pole Arms for a drink, one of my friends lives in Wingfield so we thought it would be nice to support a local pub. When we first arrived it was fine we ordered two rounds of drinks unfortunately the young lady behind the bar did not know anything about the wines but give her her due she had only been there a month. At 9.45 I went to order another round of drinks only to be told that she was not serving anymore, to our amazement she actually ment it. She said that the owner had told her if the pub was nearly empty she could stop serving we could not believe it, she then stated she wanted to go home so we left and we to the Swan in Stradbroke who were great and of course under licencing laws served us. One of my friends then called the pub the next day and was told we were difficult customers who ordered 3 tap waters, utter nonsense. We are 5 mothers in our 40's who just wanted a quiet drink and a catch up.

We had an excellent sunday lunch, with all the trimmings. Children are made to feel very welcome. The staff are very friendly and the beers at the recent real ale festival were outstanding.

Having read the other reviews I took my sister-in-law for lunch. We had always liked the food under the previous management. The young staff were great but sadly we started by finding it hard to choose anything from the menu we really wanted. Not one salad or anything that struck us as "exciting". We eventually had the Red Poll lasagne [not bad] and the mushroom carbonara [very average]. We had to request a green salad [ordinary, small]. The rice pudding was stodgy but at least the strawberry icecream was good and possibly homemade. Did not think it very good value and came away very disappointed. The place was almost empty on a Friday lunchtime. Maybe better at the weekend.

This is a lovely newly reopened pub, with very friendly staff and well chosen selection of beers and wines, although they are slightly more expensive then other pubs in the area. Have eaten here twice and the food was delicious, locally sourced and good value. Nice atmosphere, with roaring log fire, and dogs made to feel very welcome.

We went to the De la Pole with a party of five friends. The public bar was obviously doing a good trade. We had a drink in the "lounge" bar and placed our orders for our meal. There were two or three other parties doing likewise. The menu was fairly varied, with choices including lamb's liver, rabbit pie, two sorts of fish, and several others. On balance we enjoyed what we ate - the portions were possibly a bit large, and there needs to be a bit of fine tuning on the finishing touches, but those are minor issues indeed. The staff were very friendly, attentive and helpful, mostly quite young people. Our views on what we ate were sought and listened to with real interest. We will go back.
