Very disappointed today, poor service, landlord unwilling to resolve an issue in any way. After being a fairly regular visitor for the last five years we won't be going again!

We went with the parents today, my wife and myself and 2 kids, lovely atmosphere, very busy, but the food was great. We managed to book the same day and get a table upstairs, very nice views over the River Orwell and the Yachts, parking is limited but we managed. Excellent value (just over £100 for 6 inc drinks), will definately be going back.

I am totally disappointed in this pub which is in a beautiful and unique setting, yet treats it's customers with unhelpful indifference. The food is not very good - scampi and chips etc. but if served by pleasant people who were remotely interested in their customers it wouldn't matter so much. The older (45-ish) woman behind the bar on both occasions was curt - on the first occasion putting on a big display about whether they were still serving (7 minutes before their stated lunch time ended - and only that late as we had sat like idiots at the table fondly imagining that we might have had waitress service -until another customer told us we had to go to the bar!). There was quite a lot of chat from the staff to one or two people who were obviously regulars - but a smile or a cheery word for us - you are joking? All in all a totally disappointing experience and one we will not repeat - except in an emergency. We will certainly not be recommending this establishment to anyone!
