This restaurant is a farce! I received a personal discount voucher in the post to encourage me to try out their establishment - BIG MISTAKE!!! I called to make a booking and the girl advised me it was quiet and just to pop along. On arrival I was advised that due to a bus load of German tourists I couldn't dine in the restaurant. However, after explaining about calling prior to arrival my family were allowed in the restaurant. Prawn Cocktail starter was tasteless, we then asked for sirloin steaks well done (ie no blood). However, they were extremely charred on the outside and a little bloody on the inside. We could hardly cut into the steaks and when we started chewing them, we felt we had lockjaw. I had already sent my steak back due to over zealous drizzling of mayonnaise on my steak, I am allergic to mayo! Steak brought back, guess what? Mayo on the underside of my steak. Enough was enough and I complained to the waiter. He treated us as if we were lepers, because we used our voucher. Assistant manager offered a free meal on return, we declined as it would be the same chef cooking the same rubbish. We asked for a refund but it was not forthcoming. We too waited ages for drinks and meals. Service: very poor Food: very poor Overall: Extremely Poor We even had to ask for salt and pepper on our table - need I say more!

Looking forward to a spot of lunch, four of us entered the restaurant and were immediately lured into a false sense of expectation by the tasteful decor, crisp linen and dimmed lighting. After seating ourselves and a 10 minute wait, 3 (not 4) members of our party had there drinks order taken. The drinks arrived. The lager was flat and the wine and soda had no soda. After a further 15 mins, we were bizarrely served 2 slices of plain white bread with butter. To share. I didn't realise we had travelled through time to post war Britan, but hey ho... A further 30 minutes passed whilst we willed the bread to do something interesting, before our main meals arrived. The main meals themselves were actually quite nice however the side order of curly fries with cheese and chilli had no chilli (perhaps they were coming out in sympathy with the white wine spritzer). One table walked out whilst we were there and another table also complained as they had to wait over 30 minutes for their drink order (which eventually arrived the same time as their food). Upon leaving, we made a complaint to 'Lauren' who appeared to be in charge who really wasn't interested. She was short staffed apparently but 'nothing she could do about that'. The restaurant wasn't even busy, so I felt this was a poor excuse, not a reason, and its a shame that the kitchen staff are being let down by front of house. So, in a nutshell, if you are looking for fast, friendly service, make sure this place isn't on your Agenda. We certainly won't be back.
