I can only re-iterate the comments by K Smith. they were far too many people and the facilities were unable to cope. This as previously mentioned was definitely not helped by there being no staff available to sort. I will not be returning and would recommend that if you are considering a visit don't go at a bank holiday!!

We chose this site as it looked wonderful from their website and had a David Bellamy Gold Award for conservation. We were VERY disppointed. The site has 140 pitches, a mix of free grass areas, hard stand and grass stands, and we counted at least 220 units (tents, caravans, trailer tents) over the Bank Holiday. On the Saturday morning, they were even letting tents pitch in the dog walk field, which previously had had a "do not camp in this area" notice - not exactly hygienic. The central utility block doubles as what looks like a huge workshop, and there are at least two dozen storage caravans dotted around the site and cramped together, some covered in moss and soil. We and others had problems with no hot water in the showers, despite paying 20p for a shower, loo roll running out and not being replaced and the hairdrier in the ladies shower area accepting 20p's but not working. The owners or wardens (unsure which)were particularly surly, and closed Reception around 6 pm each evening, with no-one obviously around to deal with problems such as hoards of hopeful campers arriving. We do not see how this site has got a David Bellamy Gold Award - it just has a few plastic bins for bottles, plastic and paper, and by Monday morning, the refuse area was so full, it was impossible to get to these bins. Holidays are too precious to spend on sites like this and we will not be going there again.

Lovely site. Toilet and shower facilities are ample and spotlessly clean. Proprieters are very friendly and extremely helpful.
