We stayed at Karrageen for a week with 2 of our 3 children ages 5 and 15 yrs. The good bits; Lovely camp site in rolling hills with sea view. The site is never overcrowded as Phil the owner ensures each pitch has a decent area in front of it where children can play.Shower block and toilets were always reasonably clean.Phil the owner and his wife were always helpful and polite. The not so good bits; Take plenty of 20 pence pieces with you. A shower costs 20p,and for that you get a whole 2 minutes of shower. If you decide to wash your dishes you will also be charged 2op. We were unaware of this and we washed our dishes without paying, the owners daughter saw this and informed us that the charge was because the water was 'spring' water, and then patrronisingly asked us for our surname.Needless to say, self confidence is'nt something that this young lady is short of. As far as we were aware passing wind was totally free.

Having recently spent 2weeks in a Static Caravan on Karrageen Caravan and Camping site all we can say is roll on next year, We had a wonderful time made possible by the hospitality of the owners Phil and Nikki Higgin and their delightful teenage children who help as much as possible studies permitting. The caravan was spotless and well provided for, there was also a very well stocked shop with all essentials plus take away food and wine and beer. The area is wonderful countryside and only one mile from the sea very quiet and relaxing and we were very lucky to have good weather.
