Good Points: The staff were very nice and helpfull and our evening meal in the hotel was great. Bad Points: The Double bed in the courtyard room number 29 where we stayed was very uncomfortable! The noise form the hotel woke us up all through the night, and we both had a terrible nights sleep. Our bathroom had open bottles of used shower gell/shampoo in the shower. General review: The hotel food and staff were excellent, however dont stay in the double courtyard bedrooms, go for the hotel rooms inside!

Good Points: Lovely setting in the Forest of Dean. Room had character. Bad Points: Bar food was not very inspiring at all. Heater in bathroom was on full & couldn't be switched off as adjustment knob broken. General review: Didn't think our room was good value for money in relation to other hotels we've stayed at. The Speech House had interesting history , but decor was generally looking a bit tired.

Good Points: Staff were excellent, very friendly and when a cab couldn't be found to take me to the wedding reception venue one of them offered to drive me there in their own car after their shift. Bad Points: None really, although my room was on the small side for a double, but this wasn't an issue as I wasn't there to stay in the room all day! General review: Excellent, faultless staff, nice location and good food in the main restaurant and bar.
