i visited the debenhams store in middlesbrough nand found staff very helpfull and friendly and stores dont give carrier bags away without purchase and a lot off small shops charge for carrier bags if they gave every one who asked for a carrier bag it would cost a fortune il stick up for debenhams as whene i visited they were helpfull

I was very disappointed with the staff in Jane Norman who were rude and unhelpful to me. My son had accidently broken a bottle in a carrier bag and when I asked if I could possibly have a carrier bag to transfer the items across I was told that they could not as I had to buy something. I was actually intending to buy several garments which were in my hands but was told that once I'd paid for them I could have a carrier bag. I was only needing a bag not necessarily a Jane Norman one, I actually spend several hundred pounds in Debenhams, in particular this concession every month so I was not impressed and did not buy anything at all. The staff on the cosmetics are no better, a week earlier they had been too busy gossiping DURING serving me that I took my business to Boots. It is a shame that these concessions are spoiling your good name and I am not alone in these views I have found since telling others of my experience.
