I've been in The Regent Hotel in april 2009 with a friend. I really want to recommend it to everyone who is looking for a affordable and clean hotel at a perfect location of St Ives! The Regent Hotel is a small one, but peaceful with very friendly owners. We've been there for 5 nights but if we would stay for a longer period, it wouldn't be a problem (there was nothing what could cause irritating or something, and I think that's important). Maybe not so useful for big families or something because the capacity. Oh, and the breakfasts were REALLY delicious! I've never had such breakfasts in my life before! (Maybe we miss some skills in Holland ;) ). They cook it by themselves :) The location is great as well, because it's next to the bus stop and the train station and still close to the "centre" of St Ives. It took maybe about 2 minutes to walk through the beautiful small streets to the shops, restaurants, beaches, tourist information, etc. In short: fantastic for couples or a few friends (and walkers and so on) because the small capacity. And last but not least: mind the seagulls! ;)
