I have been to the Manor House at Alford 3 times now but have never actually 'done the tour' of the museum - I go purely for the fabulous Tea Room. The cakes and food are wonderful and the service is second to none. I can honestly say that the people who work in the tea room are some of the most pleasant people that I have found in the service industry - if only their standard was the norm then no-one would ever have cause to complain! If you are in the area and fancy a lovely 'afternoon tea' then I urge you to try it.

I then realized my appearance was a bit odd. My right leg was no longer with me. It had caught somewhere in the top of the cockpit as I tried to leave my Spitfire. - Douglas Bader
