Good Points: Lovely views from the front of the hotel. Very spacious inside and outside. Good breakfast with attentive staff. Bad Points: A bit shabby in places, small bedroom when accommodating the travel cot provided by the hotel. General review: Lots of room for a toddler to walk around, although it doesn't have any facilities for children therefore not really ideal for a small child. Perfectly adequate for 1 night stay when visiting Grange, you get what you'd expect from a large old fashioned hotel.

The reception staff left a lot to be desired in thier attitude with one particular girl most surley. The room we were first allocated was small dingy and generally uninviting. We asked for a different room and finished up with what they described as a suite but although large still was pretty undesirable. The public rooms were a disaster. We would not stay there again.

We enjoyed our stay. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was excellent and well presented. The only negative side was creaky floor-boards overhead that kept us awake at night, and one small room allocated to non-smokers.(roll on total smoking ban)The bar and surrounding area had a continuous blue haze in the evening.Everything else was most enjoyable.
