Born 1958 - English animator, Academy Award winner.

Studied communication arts at Sheffield and animation at National Film and Television School. Made short film Creature Comforts (1989) using plasticine figures and stop-motion techniques, won Academy Award. Later works include A Grand Day (1990) introducing the characters of Wallace and Gromit, The Wrong Trousers (1993) and A Close Shave (1995), again winning Academy Awards, and Chicken Run (2000).
