English television, film and theatre actor

Found fame playing the lead role in the 1979 TV detective series Shoestring. More recently he was seen as a detective again playing DS Boyd in the BBC's Waking The Dead. Films include Dracula (1979) and She's Out of My League (2010). In theatre he has won the Laurence Olivier Award twice for his performances in Children of a Lesser God and Uncle Vanya.
