Born 1959 – Film and stage actor.
Won scholarship to RADA, graduated in 1983. Made his professional acting debut in 1983 at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury. Became an established television actor appearing in Lady Chatterley and Clarissa. Became well known as Sharpe in the television series of that name. Also known for his role as Boromir in the Lord of the Rings films and in the James Bond film Goldeneye. Ardent supporter of Sheffield United.
