| 10 Places to Stay

People travel from all over Ireland and beyond to stay in Leopardstown - a beautiful part of Dublin, six miles south of the city centre, and a major sporting centre. This is the location of the Leopardstown Racecourse, which is set in the foothills of the Dublin Mountains and overlooked by the dramatic outlines of Killiney Hill. The racecourse dates back more than 120 years and due to repeated upgrading, it's now widely regarded to be among Europe's finest racetracks. Around it has grown a large complex that includes suites, hospitality rooms, bars and restaurants (some of which can be hired for conferences or parties on days when there's no racing), a nightclub holding more than 1,000 people, a state-of-the-art health and fitness centre with a well-equipped gym, and the Leopardstown Golf Centre. This takes the form of an 18-hole pay-as-you-go course catering for players of every ability. It also offers tuition, a driving range and an all-weather chipping and putting green. Unsurprisingly, there are plenty of hotels accommodating guests in this very popular part of Dublin, and coaches and buses run regular services to it from all over the city, and the airport. Visitors will also revel in the opportunity to get to know Dublin.
