Pangbourne is a village on the River Thames and Pang, dating back to Saxon Times, Lord Nelsons Bo’Sun lived in Pangbourne and is buried at St James the Less church, built in 1660, Inside the beauty of the stained glass window won’t fail to impress. The individual shops are full of character and will lighten any purse, or perhaps enjoy the surrounding area which is ideal for walkers, photographers and artists alike whether it’s in the countryside or along the tow path, the scenery will do justice to any masterpiece. Beale Wildlife Gardens will ensure a pleasurable day, whether enjoying the steam train or a River Cruise, or maybe a visit to the enchanting Deer Park. For the younger ones there is always Little Tikes Village with sand pit and play houses add together stunning gardens and small animals what more could possibly be asked for, perhaps Basildon Park, an exquisite 18th Century Mansion with bewitching parkland overlooking the Thames, the opulent interior parades it’s many treasures such as a stunning four poster bed, an octagonal dining room and majestic stair case, and was used in the filming of ‘Pride and Prejudice‘, unfortunately Mr D’Arcy is nowhere to be seen.
