Stoke Mandeville is a pleasant village set on the edge of the picturesque Chiltern Hills, in the county of Buckinghamshire, there is a broad mix of period cottages and modern houses and buildings, there's also village shops, and a couple of pubs to explore, and if more shops are wanted then the village is perfectly placed just three miles or so from the Market town of Aylesbury. The pioneering hospital named after the village is close by and leads the way in treating spinal injuries, as is the fabulous Stoke Mandeville Stadium which is the impressive National Centre for Wheelchair Sports.
