Latest reviews | Events in Praa Sands
Praa Sands is a coastal village in South West Cornwall, linked with the Mining Industry of Centuries past, and intriguing tales of Smuggling and Wrecking. The fabulous long wide beach has sugar soft sand, edged by a lush green backdrop of sand dunes, often one temptation too many for Surfers who enjoy the challenging swell. Cliff top walks will reward those who dare with views of Dolphins and Seals. Or perhaps embark on a journey of discovery to Prussia Cove, follow in the footsteps of the famous Smuggler John Carter, and although he has long since gone a visit to this enchanting cove will conjure thoughts of Smugglers, Rum, and tall Sailing Ships that every boy dreams of. Close by is Marazian where the tidal causeway allows visitors and pilgrims to explore St Michaels Mount, whose memorable craggy outline is topped with a diamond of a Medieval Castle and Church, for the inquisitive, Poldark Mines will share it's history and secrets during the underground tour, or maybe the promise of breath stealing rides, a Victorian Village which rewinds time in an instant, and even a chance to see Tarantulas, and Owls will tempt a visit to Flambards Village. Praa Sands and surrounding area offers a treasure chest of wonders just waiting to be opened.
