The village of East Haddon lies in a rural setting about 10 miles North West of Northampton on the A428. East Haddon is conveniently situated 15 minutes from the M1 and is located in the very centre of England providing easy access to many major cities. The village pub is the Red Lion Hotel, which also serves food. Visitors can stay in alternative accommodation such as the traditional stone cottages at East Haddon Grange and will find that it provides a good centre from which to visit many local attractions. These include such historic houses and gardens as Althorp House (which is less than 5 minutes away) and Castle Ashby and Holdenby House (where Elizabeth I was a frequent visitor). There's also racing at Silverstone and Towcester and more leisurely pursuits on the golf course, in beautiful country parks and through rural market towns. East Haddon Grange is a working farm with incredibly tame South Devon cows that love being petted by kids and adults alike! The whole family can enjoy the seclusion of the farm and walk the network of footpaths through 100 acres of land to nearby villages. If you're lucky, you may spot badgers, buzzards and barn owls along the way.
