SWALE!

Where Coast and Country Meet!
Within Swale's 18 by 15 mile area, you will find many interesting and exciting places for you and your family to visit. From historical houses, museums and beautiful gardens to seaside resorts.

Sittingbourne
Sittingbourne has a long history as a market town - an important stage post for medieval pilgrims on their way to Canterbury. With a good shopping centre, plentiful parking, a newly pedestrianised area and a large leisure centre Sittingbourne can make a fun day out for all. Within the Sittingbourne area visitors will find a range of attractions from craft centres to gardens and a number of food outlets to tantalise the taste buds.

Isle of Sheppey
The largest town on Sheppey is the historic port of Sheerness with good shopping areas and a market held every Tuesday and Saturday. Queenborough is noted for its naval history whilst Eastchurch is connected to the aviation heritage which is commemorated here today. Leysdown is at the eastern most tip of the Island and enjoys beautiful views across the sea. Sheppey has a diverse range of attractions from RSPB nature reserves to coastal resorts which is sure to cater for all members of the family.

Faversham
Faversham is a market town with a fascinating history. It has many fine buildings particularly the historic Abbey Street including The Guildhall and Fleur de Lis Heritage Centre which houses the Tourist Information Centre. Faversham also has a lot of small independent retail outlets selling goods from jewellery to clothing. If you would like to relax and enjoy a candlelit dinner for two in the evening then Faversham has many restaurants and nice pubs for you to enjoy.
