Climbing in Buckinghamshire

In our history, we have climbed to reach food, like birds eggs in trees or cliffs. Nowadays, it is usually done for the sheer thrill of it. The excitement of the climb and the incredible sense of achievement felt after a successful climb goes hand in hand with the sense of camaraderie felt by climbers. Climbing was once restricted to scaling works of nature, such as cliffs, rocks and mountains. Today the UK has many indoor climbing centres, so the activity can be practised on an indoor wall. This means the climber can get his or her kicks without having to travel long distances to find suitable climbs, and of course allows climbing regardless of the weather. As with all extreme sports climbing is not without danger and beginners must seek advice and instruction. It is also vital to be properly prepared and equipped. Fortunately organisations like UK Climbing can point you in the right direction to find people and places to help you get started. Even experienced climbers need to be properly prepared, but again, the UK is very well served with equipment outlets, as well as a myriad climbing clubs and associations. The UK has some of the best natural climbs in the world. There are climbs offering both technical challenges and stunning scenery everywhere from Cornwall in the south, to the Highlands of Scotland in the north
